MOTLEY BARISTA STUDY HOURS!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th
6:00 - 8:00 pm
This Sunday we will be hosting another set of study hours for all of you Motley Managers and Baristas out there. After all it can get kind of lonely to study in your room so why not do it in the Motley in special hours just for you! Delicious snacks and refreshments will be provided - SO DON'T MISS IT! After all, who doesn't want free food?

WORLD AIDS AWARENESS WEEK.

This week is...

World AIDS Day Awareness Week:
There will be events around campus, specifically at Pomona and Mudd, but the Motley will be hosting a film screening and a fashion show and I highly recommend everyone to come. Learn more about this deadly disease or simply come and help out or help others learn more.

December 2nd, 2008 (7:00 - 9:00 PM): Film screening and speaker on HIV/AIDS policy locally and globally. Screening of segments from The Age of AIDS. Afterward, Mike Maher (co-founder of Foothill AIDS Project) will comment on the film and talk about policy in the LA area.

December 3rd, 2008 (8:30 - 10:00 PM): WORLD AIDS DAY AWARENESS FASHION SHOW... a fashion show designed to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic in the United States. Before the fashion show, students will give a presentation on AIDS in the US and during the show, a slide show of facts and statistics will be played. Attendees will be encouraged to donate food or money to benefit the Foothill AIDS Project. Optional food or monetary donation

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway~
Thanksgiving comes again!

The Motley is closed for Thanksgiving! We look forward to seeing you on Monday and wish you a happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful break. BUT while you're just hanging out and relaxing this weekend - let me update you...

These past two weeks have been pretty laid back, on the 14th Jocelyn Greene (a local Scrippsie, Scripps '11)played guitar and sang, if you wish to check out her lovely musical stylings check out her music site here. On the 18th we had an art opening with our delicious truffles and some fantastic cheese and crackers. The art was beautiful and most of the work will still be up by the time you get back from break so be sure to check it out when you stop in and get your morning caffeine fix! On the 19th psi chi (psychology club)hosted a valentine's anytime party, where they made valentines and had great snacks and on the 20th the Pomona Jazz Band played (they always seem to be a favorite)played and finally on Tuesday night,the 25th we closed the doors to the Motley, but don't worry we're coming back on Monday with a hot cup of satisfaction.
