Make Money While You Make An Impact!
Application due January 22nd at Noon
FMI come to our open house (21st), 11:30 am - 1 pm
or e-mail Amy at amann@scrippscollege.edu

I'm sure by now you have heard around campus that the Motley is hiring new workstudy Baristas, but what does that mean for you? To address this I have included some questions you may be asking yourself...

WHY SHOULD I JOIN THE MOTLEY?
  • By the end of the semester, you'll be in there so often you'll wonder why you didn't just work there and get paid to be in the Motley.
  • You will meet new, interesting people by hanging out with fun coworkers and meeting great customers 3 days a week!
  • It's the coolest place on campus and you'll get paid to hang out there and have dance parties (while serving delicious student baked goods and steaming cups of coffee, ofcourse!)
  • It's a great outlet to get more involved in the 5C Community and take an active stance on issues concerning the environment, diversity, and other such outlets that make an impact on everyone's lives
  • You will have a greater input into what the Motley sells
  • Be able to get paid your full allotment... during these economic times everyone could use some cold hard cash.
  • There are GREAT PERKS (to find out more...JOIN THE MOTLEY-APPLY NOW!)

WHAT IS THE MOTLEY?
One of the major hangouts on campus, the Motley Coffeehouse provides the invaluabe service of great coffee with great atmosphere. We are the largest all-student, all-female run coffeeshop west of the Mississippi and really focused on our impact on the community. The coffeehouse prides itself on being an environmentally conscious and socially responsible safe space focused on increasing sustainability and providing our patrons with the resources to make an impact. We're also just to great place to meet up with your friends, meet new people, study, party, or just drink a good cup of organic, fair trade coffee.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THIS AMAZING POSITION?
If you attend Scripps College and receive workstudy you are the perfect person for the job!
No coffee experience necessary...just a willingness to meet new people and drink some delicious drinks!

WHY AREN'T YOU HIRING WORKSTUDY?
Unfortunately, we only have a limited number non-workstudy positions available each year and those have been taken. However, if you are still very interested in working at the Motley next year or any year after consider applying even without workstudy. There may be some great positions open just for you! Again, we apologize for the lack of jobs available for non-workstudy and truly hope to hear from you in years to come!

APPLICATIONS DUE JANUARY 22nd by noon,
but don't hesitate APPLY NOW!

THE MOTLEY WILL OPEN SOON!

Grab your calendars, friends, and let the countdown begin!
THE MOTLEY OPENS IT'S DOORS
JANUARY 29th at 8 pm!

Get ready for an opening you won't soon forget
with a night of music, dancing, our lovely Motley faces and of course COFFEE.
Is the 29th too long for you to wait and do you have workstudy?
then...

WORLD AIDS AWARENESS WEEK.

This week is...

World AIDS Day Awareness Week:
There will be events around campus, specifically at Pomona and Mudd, but the Motley will be hosting a film screening and a fashion show and I highly recommend everyone to come. Learn more about this deadly disease or simply come and help out or help others learn more.

December 2nd, 2008 (7:00 - 9:00 PM): Film screening and speaker on HIV/AIDS policy locally and globally. Screening of segments from The Age of AIDS. Afterward, Mike Maher (co-founder of Foothill AIDS Project) will comment on the film and talk about policy in the LA area.

December 3rd, 2008 (8:30 - 10:00 PM): WORLD AIDS DAY AWARENESS FASHION SHOW... a fashion show designed to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic in the United States. Before the fashion show, students will give a presentation on AIDS in the US and during the show, a slide show of facts and statistics will be played. Attendees will be encouraged to donate food or money to benefit the Foothill AIDS Project. Optional food or monetary donation

i hope to see you all there.
